A stunning strand of carnelian beads from the late Art Deco (ca1920) era! This fabulous necklace is comprised of 73 graduated, faceted carnelian beads which alternate with faceted rock quartz crystal spacers to form an extremely long 46" necklace. The carnelian beads are covered in facets on all sides and have a rich, vibrant orange color. The beads are strung on white chord and the necklace is finished at the end with a barrel screw clasp, though it slips easily on and off overhead. The dramatic length and size of the beads makes this necklace a true statement piece when worn. It would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The largest bead, which is in the center of the strand, measures approximately 1" long and is 5/8" thick. The smallest bead measures 3/8" long and 1/4" thick. The overall length of the necklace is 46".
Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is very good, with all beads and spacers intact and securely strung. The barrel screw clasp is secure and in good working condition. There is some normal surface wear and minor chips to several of the carnelian beads, which is not unusual for an Art Deco piece, however they do not detract from the beauty of the piece.
